What Is The Full Form Of NEET?  NEET stands for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. It’s a national level common entrance exam that’s conducted by the Central Council for secondary education for admission to medical colleges in India. The pupils who would like to examine undergraduate education medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, etc.need to appear and pass the NEET.

NEET has substituted the All India Pre Medical Test and the other clinical entrance exams conducted by the states or individual colleges. It’s saved the time, energy, and money of the pupils as earlier they’d to fill unique types for various medical entrance exams in India.

Nevertheless, some renowned medical colleges such as AIIMS, JIPMER, and PGIMER are conducting their very own medical entrance exams as these are established under separate laws.

NEET UG: 

NEET UG examination was held for the very first time on 5 May 2013. NEET-UG 2019 took place on May 5, in one session and offline mode as usual. Its duration was 3 hours and it’d multiple-choice questions. The medium was English, Hindi, and several other regional languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, etc. The paper had 3 sections: Physics with 45 questions, Chemistry with 45 questions, and Biology with 90 questions.

Therefore, there have been a total of 180 questions, and as each question was out of four symbols, the exam was of 720 marks. For each correct answer, the candidate will get 4 marks, and also for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. The result was declared on its official website on 5 June 2019.

NEET-UG Eligibility Criteria: 

  • The applicants that have passed the twelfth class with math, chemistry, and mathematics and have attained the age of 17 years are eligible for NEET-UG.
  •  The upper age limit is 25 years for General category. It’s relaxed by a period of 5 years for SC, ST, and OBC categories.
